Reading for Kiwi week 8 to 11


 Use a table of contents, a glossary, an index and diagrams to source and understand information in order to answer key questions

Reading Contract Wk 8-11
Independent activities for you to work on during contract time.
You are required to read the following journal articles:
What a feast 1997 Pt 1 N# 2
The body run 1993 Pt4 N# 3
A day’s shearing 1995 Pt 3 N# 2
Dairy Farmer 1990 Pt 2 N# 4
From my Bedroom Window 1999 Pt 1 N# 4
Lambing time 1992 Pt 1 N# 3
Never shout at a daft horse 1994 Pt 3 N# 2
Oranges on the Mississippi 1992 Pt 3 N# 3








The following activities are to be drafted (on draft paper) and published (in reading books) within the next three weeks.  Do not rush your way through the activities as three weeks is more than enough time to get the work done.

ACTIVITIES TO BE DONE:

  1. Read and complete activities booklet for: A world of Farms.

  1. Write a point of view on dairy farming vs sheep farming in Southland.

  1. Write an Explanation on How Fruits and Vegetables get from the farms to people.

  1. Write a poem on a type of farming.

  1. Create a fact page on one type of farming that you have studied.

  1. Write a story that involves something to do with farming.




Set activities out in your reading book, make sure you number and date at the start of your activities.

Books will be taken in when work is completed and marked.
